The IIS leader acted as a co-moderator of the conference “Regional and industry experience in implementing AI in modern geopolitical conditions” at the forum “ARMY 2022”

On August 16, 2022, within the framework of the ARMY 2022 forum, the conference “Regional and industry experience in implementing AI in modern geopolitical conditions” was held.

The conference was moderated by Yuri Hohlov, chairman of the Board of directors of the Institute of the Information Society, and Tatyana Pakholko, vice president of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs.

The conference presented the best regional practices of using artificial intelligence technologies to solve socio-economic and public administration problems, as well as reports related to the use of artificial intelligence to achieve sustainable development goals:

  • Artificial intelligence technologies: practice of use in key sectors of the economy on the example of the Chelyabinsk region

  • Development of the IT industry and game design in the Perm Territory

Speakers and participants of the conference emphasized the importance of exchanging best practices for implementing artificial intelligence systems in the subjects (constituent entities) of the Russian Federation, including the use of the up-to-date bases of best practices for implementing AI, created and supported by the Autonomous Non-commercial Organization “Digital Economy” and the Department of Information Technologies of the City of Moscow.

Summing up, the co-moderators of the conference noted the need to clarify the strategies for digital transformation of the subjects of the Russian Federation developed last year and include in them activities related to the development and use of key general-purpose technologies of the 21st century – artificial intelligence technologies. Priority should be given to creating an enabling environment for the implementation of such activities, such as public policy, regulation, resource provision, training, research and development, digital infrastructure, trust and security. Particular emphasis should be made on the formation of high-quality data arrays, without which it is impossible to use artificial intelligence technologies in general and machine learning in particular.
